Did Sara Ali Khan turn down Anushka Sharma’s home banner film?
Even before the release of her debut film – Kedarnath, Sara Ali Khan has been making news. The filmmakers who want to work with her will have to wait until her debut film opposite Sushant Singh Rajput hits the theatres. We had earlier informed you that Sara has already been approached by Anushka Sharma’s production house Clean Slate Films to star in their next venture but we waited for an official announcement about the same. After that update, it now looks like we will not be able to see Sara in Anushka’s next banner film.
According to a report in a leading daily, while Sara was excited about this project, her Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor isn’t really in favour of the idea. A source told the daily, “Sara’s debut film, Kedarnath will release in December next year. Abhishek Kapoor, who is directing the film, doesn’t want her to sign any other film as he feels that will distract her from her first movie outing. The team will finish shooting the film around June next year and then, there’s a lot of CGI work that needs to be done.”
The source further revealed, “Gattu wants Sara to concentrate completely on Kedarnath till the release of the film. Since Prernaa is the common link, the team mutually decided that Sara won’t be doing Anushka’s film anymore. But this development happened after a bit of an internal clash.” The source added, “It has been tentatively titled Bulbul and revolves around the character that was offered to Sara. The newcomer had loved the script and was keen to be a part of the project. Unfortunately, that couldn’t happen.”
Well, we really would have loved to see Anushka and Sara coming together for a project.
